Ronald McDonald House
Family Rooms

Our Ronald McDonald House Family Room programs are directly inside the hospital and adjacent to neonatal or pediatric wards, and they provide home-like, quiet spaces that give families the ability to rest and recharge during the long days of testing or treatment. In a Ronald McDonald House Family Room, family members can get some rest, meet other families, do some laundry or just recharge to remain strong for their child. It provides a respite for families with children in the hospital when days can feel never-ending. 

These rooms replicate a home-like atmosphere for parents who need a break from the clinical hospital environment. Equipped with conveniences such as a kitchen, laundry facilities, and internet access, the space provides a comfortable place of respite for families. Our volunteers help give parents the gift of time, allowing them to focus fully on the well-being of their child.

There are Ronald McDonald House Family Rooms located at Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
