Lauren Hoops-Schmieg

Chief Executive Officer

With more than 25 years of dedicated experience in both the nonprofit and private sectors, Lauren brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to Ronald McDonald House New England. Prior to her role at Ronald McDonald House New England, Lauren served as a transformational leader as the Executive Director at Hill House in Boston for 11 years.

During her tenure, she secured Hill House’s financial stability, expanded programmatic offerings, and cultivated a stronger community base.  Her extensive background also includes notable positions at organizations such as the Boys & Girls Clubs of Newport County, Reed Elsevier, and Wolters Kluwer.  Lauren received her MBA at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Sloan School of Management and her BA in English from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. 

Lauren lives on the south shore of Massachusetts with her husband, two children, and cat and dog.  When she has “free time,” she enjoys traveling, reading, gardening, cooking, writing poetry, hiking, and collecting antique books and art.
